![]() ![]() ![]() The game is run-based, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to test out each playstyle and find one that best suits you. Each of the six family members has their own unique fighting style to go along with their disparate personalities. evade 1/2 second after spider ascends. In Children of Morta, you'll play as the Bergons, a family of heroes fighting back against the Corruption that invades their world. If you play the archer it is even easier, especially at lvl 4 which takes a whole 3 runs to get, just stay right north of the hanging spot, get the damage increase while standing still and hold leftclick. When he summons friends, ignore the big ones and wait for the evade window, strategically striking the annoying little spiders when they close in. literally in any direction, walk back to hang spot and hold left-click. If King Spider ascends, wait 1/2 second and evade. Stand next to where the spider hangs and hold left click. I just picked up the game and the plot progression style and character development is what is going to keep me "grinding." The RNG is way more forgiving than Diablo3 (and overall, I'd say the whole lack of power-creep is for the best.,) and encounters rely more on pattern recognition than stacking force multipliers. Easy games are going out ever since Dark Souls reintroduced a little anxiety back into the gaming experience. It is a little less forgiving than what the majority of modern gamers are used to, but I suspect that is the point. The buff will carry over to the boss fight. Save a good combat shrine (crit, shield, or for this particular boss the AoE flames) and use it just before entering the boss. Having an awesome build is worthless if it can't beat the boss. The last thing that can help is saving invuln or health pot charm.įor general tips that apply to any boss: gear towards beating the fight. Get the AoE flames shrine buff if you can. The boss is very easy if you clear the ads. Have an activatable item that does AoE dmg. Being tanky gives you more time to learn the boss' patterns, and it's hard to learn a boss if you die in 2 hits. Not 100% sure you can block it, but I would recommend John anyways because this boss spawns ads and he has good AoE, and because he is tanky. The stomp can be dodged, or if you have a hard time with that, you can block it (I think) with John. It alternates between trying to drop/stomp your character from the ceiling, or moving to the top of the room to summon/do nothing. Because I just died in the lair last 3 tries this weekend on a revisit. I seem to recall many of us complaining about all that in the days after release, but doesn't seem like anything ever changed. Once you finally have a character capable of doing enough damage fast enough, you'll break through. Imho what makes the spider lair unfair is you have no way to heal unless you get a lucky heal potion drop, and the boss spider just constantly drops on top of your character no matter where you put your character in the lair. I think that's what finally helped me break through on my initial go around - that I was finally able to damage the spider boss fast enough to survive the encounter - but I was so sick of those early cave levels at that point, and so fed up with the spider boss, that I didn't feel much desire to keep playing the game after. I think basically the game's forcing you to run characters through the eventually tiresome first few caves repeatedly ad nauseaum until you get at least one character high enough up the skills tree (2nd tier) to get one of their more powerful abilities in place. I quit the game early after release in frustration.
